Boondocks Babies Pixie Hats gifted to celebrity moms for Mother's Day 2014

SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH - Since January this project has been in the works and semi top secret. While it killed me not to scream it from the roof tops, I can finally talk about this awesome opportunity for the Boondocks Babies Hat Shop. Over a year ago I became a member of The Artisan Group, a collection of people who are dedicated to promoting handmade products and the artists behind the work.

For Mother's Day this year The Artisan Group has put together gift bags for 25 celebrity moms and moms-to-be. I am very excited for this chance to be a part of this gifting event. It is a chance to promote the kind of products being offered by small shops, artists and just downright creative people. I won't go into all the reasons buying from an artists helps support a family or community but handmade is something that should be supported.

The Pixie is the hat selected to be gifted this year. The first one made for my daughter Molly was berry mix in color one and she wore it everywhere. Where we live you really don't leave the house with out a hat at least 6 months out of the year due to the fall/winter weather. Everyone said she looked like Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch movie, or something out of Dr. Seuss. When we would go shopping, to the doctors office or to the post office everyone would ask "where did you get that hat", or just smile and giggle from a far. It really is just too cute! While I am still working on the best pitch for when people say "where did you get that hat," (how do you say to a total stranger "well I made it and they are awesome!") all our products are cuteness tested.

Each celebrity mom will receive a handmade gift bag in a woodland, owl motif (shown in next photo, center) containing a pixie hat in a size appreciate to fit their baby for next fall/winter season and a hand stamped card with wishes for a happy Mother's Day.
